Joy is mental pleasure.
There is no greater Joy than creating.
This is the heart of Zen Hedonism.

Joy is the moral compass for Zen Hedonism: are you having fun? And are you making a positive difference? This is the purpose and goal of you and your work, your career or your business. It is why you are doing what you are doing and how you define success.
Expand your understanding of the definition of fun. Lose the assumption that, by definition, something fun is frivolous. Fun means rewarding. A painter creating art is having fun. A musician writing songs is having fun. A stockbroker making money is having fun. A surgeon saving a life is having fun. An actor delivering a strong performance is having fun. Creating something that makes the world that much more pleasant to live in is having fun. Drop your assumed value attachments to definitions of work, fun and busy. Why is doing something you love so bad for the world compared to someone pretending to be busy at a nine-to-five they hate?

What makes you happy? What brings you Joy? What delivers you into a state of calm satisfaction and a desire to be exactly where you are, doing what you are doing? Be honest. What is the mental image you have when you tell people what you do or what you want to be?
